Join the City of Waterloo in celebration of the Illinois Bicentennial at Military Heritage Day on the grounds of the Monroe County Courthouse. Tons of activities and displays are planned throughout the day, including three USO-style shows which will showcase Monroe County performers. 11:00am will be WWII era, 2:00p.m. will be the Korean War era, and 4:00p.m. will be the Vietnam era show. The USO shows will be headlined by Bob Hope impersonator William Johnson of Los Vegas. The Monroe County Arts Alliance is well represented throughout the day with performers in the USO shows, including the Budlighters Dance Band, the Kaskaskia Trail Chorus and MASC actors and singers, as well as a performance by the Bud Light Brigade at 12 noon and the Waterloo Municipal Band performance at 3:00p.m on the bandstand. Other MCAA groups represented by soloists and ensembles include Hometown Harmony and Valmeyer Community Chorus. The Scott Air Force Base rock band Starlifter will perform at 1:00p.m. on the bandstand. Watch for more details as they become available.
